The Work Conference
We arrived in San Diego fifteen minutes ahead of our scheduled landing time. The thirteen of us on this flight all yawned as we pulled into the arrival gate. I looked at my colleagues and they, like me, looked exhausted. I undid my seat belt, wrapped up the extension piece I had asked for and stood up to get my overhead luggage. I was relieved to get my size 18 body out of that tiny seat, my legs felt like stone from the five-hour flight. I grabbed my carry-on and my purse before heading to the exit.
