Music and Older Women
If you haven’t read my past historical accounts titled ‘Family Beginnings’ and ‘Invading Virginia’s Virgin Valley’ parts 1 & 2, you might find it difficult to fully understand this chapter of my early life. I will try to make it as easy as possible to ease into it. I can’t remember ever having to learn to play the drums. My parents recognized the fact that their youngest child, the youngest grandchild on both sides of a huge extended family, wasn’t just banging around on Mom’s pots and pans with wooden spoons. Although neither one had any musical talent, they were both good dancers and knew the difference between making a noise and keeping a beat. So my father bought me one of those beginner drum sets.
