“It’s finally done!” Jack said, holding up a vial of clear liquid. As a perfumer, he spent most of his day creating new fragrances for the company’s seasonal lineup. It was only after work that his boss let him try out some of his less scientific ideas in the lab. He hadn’t had any successes so far, but if he managed to invent something useful on his own time, he would be able to patent it and get a big cut of the profits.
