Summertime Part 1 James always worked as a lifeguard in the summer when he wasn’t in school. He had done so his last few years of high school, now into his first couple years of college. Waiting tables never appealed to him, neither did landscape work. Next summer he would likely need to find an internship, but this year it was back to the pool again. His hometown was small compared to the city where he went to college, and there were only a handful of public pools to pick from. But he knew the owner of Sunny Valley Pool, and was always able to get hired with only a preparatory phone call.
