Papa and Megan: Summer of Fun
Days turned into weeks, then months, then years before we were able to be alone like that again. It was very hard to carry on the charade of a loving gramdpa and granddaughter. Oh, it wasn’t that we didn’t see each other. There were Christmases, middle school graduation, summer breaks, both up in Chicago and at our home. But there was never any time for intimacy between the two of us. Whenever we were alone, it was always under the threat of someone coming in or back or soon.
