In July just before the summer holidays started, we had a family meeting and Mum announced she was going to get a job. This stunned Susan and I as we had got used to her being there when we came home from school, and especially during school holidays. However my parents had decided that as I was 13, I’d be old enough to look after my eleven year old sister during the holidays.
